SDNTS Grade 7 teachers gear up for MATATAG curriculum roll out

As part of the preparations for this year's implementation of the revised K to 12 curriculum also known as the MATATAG curriculum, selected Grade 7 teachers of Sto. Domingo National Trade School are currently participating in the School-Based Training of Teachers (SBTT) on the MATATAG curriculum at Talavera National High School (TNHS), Talavera, Nueva Ecija on July 15-19, 2024.

SDNTS' delegation to the training is composed of Mrs. Virgilyn Valdez and Mrs. Cory Lou Gutierrez for English 7, Mrs. Abigail Salutin, Ms. Maria Elladine Karmella Peralta, and Mrs. Rhouma Dominguez for Filipino 7, Mrs. Jinky Salvador and Mr. Jerick Ray Juan for Math 7, Mrs. Omega Joy Gabato and Mrs. Rica Ferran for Science 7, Mrs. Ginalyn Sardeña and Mr. Karl Heinr Santos for AP 7, Mrs. Lorena Dizon, Mrs. Eleonor Policarpio, Ms. Rhoda Valdehueza and Ms. Norman Moya for TLE 7, Mrs. Lady Nery Cabico, Ms. Christian Mae Bolisay, and Mr. Christopher Catbagan for MAPEH 7, and Mrs. Maybelyn Manlusoc and Mr. Albert Gabest for ESP 7.
The conduct of SBTT is based on DepEd Memorandum No. DM-ONHROD-2024-0151 which aims to equip the teachers with knowledge and skills on unpacking, merging, and clustering of competencies, integration of 21st century skills in the teaching and learning process, and application of pedagogical approaches and assessments for effective lesson planning and collaborative learning.
In an interview, Mrs. Jinky Salvador, Math 7 teacher and one of the participants, shared that she enjoys the training with the different lectures and activities that they do.
"The school based training is full of learnings! We, participants engaged in interactive activities, discussions and hands-on practice to effectively integrate the curriculum into our teaching practices. This seminar's goal is to enhance students' learning outcomes and overall educational quality," she stated.
SBTT is a division-wide training workshop for teachers of Grades 1, 4, and 7 which is done in districts (for elementary) and clusters (for secondary).
SDNTS joins Cluster 2 at TNHS with Nueva Ecija High School, Talavera North and Talavera South Districts, and Sto. Domingo District.
