In view of the importance and emphasis of the government training in vocational education, a National Trade School was in Baloc, Sto. Domingo Nueva Ecija. The Sto. Domingo National Trade School. It was created by virtue of House Bill No. 558 which comes into law on June 19, 1965 when the Congress of the Philippines approved Republic Act No. 4210 which was authored by the late Congressman Eugenio Baltao of the First District of Nueva Ecija.
On July 11, 1971, the school was formally opened and headed by Mr. Benjamin C. Sandoval who was appointed as the first Vocational School Principal by Director Andres Asistin of the Bureau of Vocational Education. A temporary school site was leased by the Municipal Council who allowed the used of two unoccupied public market building in Baloc. After three years of operation, the first two buildings were constructed. Two hectares of land were purchased. Additional two hectares owned by the Provincial Government through Governor Eduardo L. Joson of Nueva Ecija were leased to the school.
In 1990, the two hectares of land were finally donated by Provincial Government through the kindness and effort of Governor Narciso Nario and the Provincial Board. Another exemplary achievement of our school was the purchased of 2.2 hectares additional school site adjacent to the present site and purposely used as athletic ground. In the phase of continuous operation, ten years have been added in this truly high learning institution. The new administration building, additional classrooms and guidance rooms were constructed.
It was very fulfilling to see the ladders of progress in SDNTS. From the 40 students who enrolled in 1971, it was increased to 3,716 this year. Modern facilities were greatly improved, instructional materials were provided and innovations in the learning process were developed. The school proved to be successful for the continuous good performance and excellence both in academic and vocational technical course. Likewise, Sto. Domingo National Trade School became well known Vocational School in Region III.
